Where do you get the pictures?

Tumblr. I follow a bunch of hipster-y blogs and I just save the pictures off my dash. None of them are mine unless explicitly stated. If you want your picture taken down send me a message and I’ll gladly do so.

How do you caption them?

I used to use picnik, but then when that closed I switched to pixlr and picmonkey. I use pixlr most of the time now.

I hate how your photos have nothing to do with the quotes. Are you too hipster to make sense? 

I cannot claim to know much about most of the over-300 shows in the index. I receive these lines out of context and without context, what do you think I do? I take them as they are. I interpret them as I see fit and I try to find a picture that makes sense with MY INTERPRETATION. If someone has a certain way that they’d like to see the quote portrayed, they can either make it themselves, submit the picture they’d like me to use with the quote as a caption for me to make, or describe the type of picture they’d like as a part of the request. All of those are valid options that people take! but without any of that, you get what I hear from each quote.

If I happen to know something about the context of the line, I try to make it fit. But more often than not, I have no idea. So you get what you get.

Can I submit my own picture?

Yes, absolutely! I accept:

-Pictures with captions

-Pictures without captions

In the submit page, and I accept

-Caption requests

in my ask box!

It’s not letting me tag my own picture!

I know, I have it set up that way. It’s because of two reasons:

1. This forces me to personally check every single submission I get.
2. This way I can make sure all of the tags match, so that all of your submissions end up in the index! :)

Why don’t you take text submissions anymore?

Because it’s too difficult to regulate. Also, especially (and mostly), because that way, if someone submits a line I’ve already done, I can respond to that message privately and take care of it easily.

You spelled something wrong/misquoted the lyrics/etc!

First off, I sincerely apologize. I hate it when this happens.

However, when I’m making requests, I generally copy/paste the lyrics straight from the message. I don’t double-check them unless there’s something obviously wrong. So I really have to say that there’s not much I can do to fix this issue.

From now on, I’ll be tagging things that are misspelled/misquoted/etc with “mistake” so that people will know that I messed it up. If you’re really mad, I can make a new version with the correct lyrics. But it takes a long time for me to go back and find the picture and replace the whole thing, so as much as I would like to not have problematic pictures this is what I’ve got for you. 

Moral of the story: DOUBLE CHECK YOUR REQUEST BEFORE YOU SEND IT TO ME.

Why don’t you have Anonymous enabled?

Several reasons:

1. I got tired of hate messages. If you have something to say, say it as yourself. You shouldn’t need to hide behind a grey face.
2. Anonymous requests were irritating. This way, I can respond to a request personally, and if I need something clarified I can just ask them.
3. I dislike grey faces.

Every so often, I enable Anon for a short period of time- a few hours, sometimes a day. So if you have something that you HAVE to ask anonymously, then just wait.

But I don’t have a tumblr, so how am I supposed to request things without anon?

First question: how do you follow me without a tumblr?

At this point, probably! Check the INDEX, it should help you out.

Will you do something from [insert show here]?

No! I just don’t have the time to go through shows on my own anymore. HOWEVER, if you send me specific lines from that show, I will happily do them for you! The fastest way to see something from a particular show, though, is to make a picture yourself and submit it :)

Do you accept lines from straight plays/operas/internet shows/shows in other languages/etc?

Yes, absolutely! If it’s theatre, I’ll take it. This is hipstertheatrepictures, not hipstermusicalpictures. Just make sure you specify the show, please :)

What do the 100 club and 200 club tags mean on quotes and pictures?

That’s something you should ask this page.

Will you promo me?

Only if you run a similar blog- that is, a meme or related. I also have an affiliates page, for such blogs♥
